Born in Albuquerque New Mexico Carl Began playing drums at the
age of thirteen. He took lessons from Ken Battat
and Jay Blea. He also learned a lot from his
cousin Max "Donnie" Baca and good friend and fellow
drummer Larry Montoya.
A graduate of West Mesa high Carl played with the West
Mesa
high chorus band and had many performances through
out different high schools and performance centers in
New Mexico,Colorado!
Carl has played and recorded with many Bands in
Albuquerque such as Los Duques, Los Chavos, Duke City
Boyz, Marty & Triple Shot, Matthew Martinez, Los
Hermanos Baca, just to name a few! Carl is currently
producing and recording music out of his own studio at
201 La Veta NE And Running his own Band Called Rhythm
Divine.! It Gets hectic at times but
I like to keep busy whether it's doing live
performances, DJing, recording or just practicing. I've
really had the good fortune of playing with some good
musicians in my career and I' m grateful for that
because I have learned a lot from all the bands that I
have played with. Versatility is what drives me I want
to be the best I can be whether I'm playing Rock, Jazz,
Spanish or Country. I just try to lay down a solid beat
and compliment the rest of the band.
I'm really inspired by all kind's music from
Tejano,Funk,Jazz and R&B!
Some of my influences on Drums are Richard Solis, Rick
Reyes, Chente Barrea, JB Hernandez, Buddy Rich,
Louie Belsome, Dennis Chambers and Zoro just to name a few!
As much as I love music I keep it in perspective and
always put my family first. I love spending time
with
my wife, my son, my mom
and
dad,
our and two dogs!
Carl is currently working on several projects in the
studio to be released in 2008!
